2017

McNabb was selected by the Vegas Golden Knights on June 21, 2017 after being left exposed by the Kings at the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft. He was the first player to wear a Golden Knights jersey to an NHL awards ceremony.

McNabb agreed to a four-year, $10 million contract deal with the Golden Knights on November 29, 2017.

2014

McNabb was moved to the Los Angeles Kings on March 5, 2014, along with teammate Jonathan Parker and two draught picks, for right winger Hudson Fasching and left winger Nicolas Deslauriers.

He became a restricted free agent at the end of the 2013-14 season and was re-signed by the Kings to a two-year contract. McNabb signed a new two-year contract with the Kings on June 4, 2016.

2011

Buffalo signed McNabb to a three-year, entry-level contract on May 18, 2011. Prior to the 2011-12 season, he was invited to the Sabres’ training camp.

On November 26, 2011, the Sabres recalled McNabb from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League (AHL). On December 26, 2011, he scored his first NHL goal against Tomá Vokoun of the Washington Capitals. McNabb received a concussion in a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on January 13 and missed eight games to recover.

McNabb was invited to Canada’s 2011 National Junior Team selection camp, however he did not make the final roster.

2010

McNabb captained the Kootenay Ice from 2010 to 2011. He helped them win the Memorial Cup against Owen Sound in 2011, but he was penalised for one game for elbowing Joey Hishon.

McNabb was chosen by the Buffalo Sabres on June 26, 2009. He went to Athol Murray College of Notre Dame, a prep school in Wilcox, Saskatchewan, where he played defence alongside former Buffalo Sabre Tyler Myers.
