Basketball Career

On June 28, 2012, the Denver Nuggets selected Fournier with the 20th overall choice in the 2012 NBA Draft. On July 11, he signed a contract with the Nuggets. Fournier’s NBA career began slowly, as he appeared in only 29 of the team’s first 73 games as a rookie. He continued to see more playing time as the season progressed, appearing in the final nine games of the season and starting three of them. Fournier scored a season-high 24 points during that final stretch of the season.

The Nuggets renewed Fournier’s rookie contract for a another year the following year. On February 23, 2014, Fournier demonstrated his worth with a 27-point performance against the Sacramento Kings.

On June 26, 2014, Evan Fournier was traded to the Orlando Magic. In return for Arron Afflalo, the draught rights to Devyn Marble and Fournier were exchanged. His rookie contract was immediately renewed for a fourth year by the Magic. On November 12, 2014, Fournier proceeded to throw up 28 points against the New York Knicks.
