Josh Morrissey is happily married to his lovely bride Margot Seaman. They married on July 1, 2022, after being engaged for two years.

Morrissey and Margot have been together for a long time. The two got engaged in July 2020, according to images posted on Chase Gregory Jewelers’ Facebook page.

Morrissey’s philanthropic activities has been supported by Margot. During the winter, the two were also involved with many Winnipeg-area organisations.

The two laid the groundwork for something they could grow with and build over time to make a difference in the community. Through narrative, connecting, and accepting vulnerability, the foundation is also assisting local organisations in removing the negative stigma associated with mental health.

Josh Morrissey’s wife, Margot Seaman, will join him in establishing their non-profit, the Glass Hall Full Foundation, in 2021.

Margot was born into a well-known Canadian family. She is the granddaughter of long-time businessman Byron Seaman, who owned the Calgary Flames for three decades.

Byron, her late grandfather, was awarded the Governor General’s Medal. He was also inducted into the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.

Career

Morrissey represented the Calgary Flames minor ice hockey club in the 2007 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament. After skating for the Calgary Royals Gold and being named the finest bantam defenseman in southern Alberta, he was selected by the Western Hockey League’s Prince Albert Raiders in the first round, sixth overall, of the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft.

Morrissey made his WHL debut with Prince Albert in 2010, skating in five games before spending the majority of the season with the Calgary Royals midget AAA squad and competing for Team Alberta at the 2011 Canada Winter Games in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He was instrumental in Alberta winning a bronze medal.

Morrissey led Prince Albert defensemen in points in 2012-13, with 15 goals and 32 assists to go with a +14 plus-minus rating and 91 penalty minutes. For the first time since 2003-04, the Raiders ended with a winning record.

Professional

Morrissey was selected by the Winnipeg Jets in the first round, 13th overall, of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft the following offseason. Morrissey was appointed Raiders captain before to the start of the 2013-14 season. The Winnipeg Jets signed him to a three-year, two-way contract on October 3, 2013, however he returned to Prince Albert for the season.
