Madhya Pradesh Inaugurated First Crop Insurance Claim Distribution Programme
- Country’s biggest and first ever crop insurance claim distribution programme of Indian history took place in Madhya Pradesh on December 9, 2016.
- Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will inaugurate the programme to distribute crop insurance claim worth Rs 4 thousand 416 crore to 20 lakh 46 thousand farmers of the state from Ujjain district.
- As per official reports Madhya Pradesh is the first State in the country where such a big crop insurance claim will be distributed among the farmers.
- The farmers who lost kharif crop in 2015 due to natural calamities are being benefited under the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme.
Kerala Chief Minister Launched Haritha Keralam Mission
- Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan launched the ‘Haritha’ Keralam Mission, a comprehensive programme for creating new development perspective on December 7, 2016.
- The massive project aims to clear and remove waste from all the water bodies in the State, ensure disposal of solid waste and removal of waste water and measures to increase the area of land under cultivation.
- A State-level task force will oversee the project and Pinarayi has already spoken to district collectors to see that this programme is taken to the grassroots and people are involved for its success. He also asked them to seek the support of educational institutions, NGOs, industries among others.
Goa Launched ‘Yuva Sanchar Yojana’
- In line with the central government’s Digital India initiative, the Goa government launched its ambitious scheme providing limited free talktime and Internet data to the youth in the State on December 4, 2016.
