1. AU College of Engineering, Vishakhapatnam

Andhra University College of Engineering at Visakhapatnam, India was established in 1926. It is located in the uplands of Visakhapatnam with the Bay of Bengal on one side and the Kailasagiri hill range on the other. Not to mention that AU college has one of the largest campuses in India and Sir Dr.C.R.Reddy founded this university.

Andhra University College of Engineering is an autonomous college and is one of the highly-rated colleges of Engineering in the country. The college consists of 12 Engineering and four Basic Sciences departments, totaling 16 departments. All of these departments offer 15 undergraduate Engineering daytime programs and four undergraduate Engineering part-time programs. Also, there are 28 postgraduate Engineering programs, one MCA, and three M.Sc. programs.

Admission

Admission to undergraduate programs is either through the scores in EAMCET or AUEET. AUEET is the Andhra University Engineering Entrance Test where students are admitted to 5-Year Integrated Dual Degree courses and twinning programs. Also, under AUEET, students who get both Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) and Master of Technology (M.Tech.) degrees will be given in 5-years.  Whereas through scores in Engineering, Agricultural and Medical common entrance test students can be enrolled in any department for a 4-year degree.

Now for the admissions in Postgraduate programs, students require GATE scores or ranking in PGECET. PGECET is the Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test, a test conducted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada (JNTU Kakinada) is a public university, in Kakinada, East Godavari district, north of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. 3. Indian Institute of Technology, Tirupati

This is one of the Government Engineering Colleges in Andhra Pradesh, the Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati. IIT Tirupati autonomous engineering and Technical Institute is located in the city of Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. The college started its function on August 5, 2005. This started as a temporary campus that was held at Krishna Theja educational institutions in the outskirts of the temple city. Since it’s starting in 2015, the college is offering B tech courses for the academic year 2015-2016. BTech is offered in four core branches. Namely, Civil, Computer Science, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering with 30 seats in each branch.

Until the director at IIT Tirupati is appointed by MHRD, the director of IIT Madras, Dr. Bhaskar Ramamurthi was the mentoring director. The IIT-M is responsible for placing a batch of experienced professors both as permanent and visiting professors. These will include the ones recently retired, former deans, and heads of various departments as per the mentorship plan.

The initial functioning of IIT-Tirupati was from the campus of Chadalawada Group of Institutes in Tirupati. The permanent building repairs near Yerpedu are located between Renigunta and Srikalahasti.

4. National Institute of Technology, Andhra Pradesh

The 31st institution among the chain of the National Institute of Technology started by the government of India is the National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh. This college is situated at Tadepalligudem, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh State. This is an institute of national importance being the National Institute of Technology. The functioning of this college started from the academic year 2015–2016. The mentor Institute was the National Institute of Technology, Warangal.
Now, the permanent campus of NIT – Andhra Pradesh is located at Tadepalligudem town of West Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh. The Government of India granted around Rs. 400 crores for the establishment of this campus. The Union Minister for H&D, Smt. Smriti Irani and the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation stone on 20 August 2015. Until the completion of the permanent building, classes for the students of NIT AP were conducted in a temporary campus at Sri Vasavi Engineering College, Pedatadepalli near Tadepalligudem.

The Bachelor of Technology admissions for Indian students are based on JEE Mains exam and ranks will be given on the basis of the score obtained. The B.Tech admissions for foreign students are not taken currently.

Commonly referred to as S. V. University or SVU, Sri Venkateswara University is another state university in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. This university was founded in 1954 and is named after Lord Venkateswara whose shrine is located in the city. It was founded by chief minister Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu.

The land for the university campus was donated by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. Sri Venkateswara University College of Engineering is an autonomous institution whose foundation was laid by the late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first prime minister of India, on 13 October 1959.

They also have a Doctoral degree leading to Ph.D. and M.Phil courses as full- and part-time. They have an expectation in fields of LIS and admissions are done through an annual SVUCET test where the intake strength is 20.

Facilities

Sri Venkateswara University Library, started in 1955 to serve the needs of the students, researchers, and teachers of the university colleges, has a membership of 6397. Housed in a spacious building with a seating capacity for about 400 readers, the library has 25 professionals and 50 administrative and supporting staff. It has a total collection of 2,95,000 volumes which includes 35,000 bound volumes of journals and nearly 3500 theses and dissertations. It subscribes to 350 periodicals at an annual cost of 12 lakh of rupees, and its annual budget is nearly 56 lakh.

Services

The library provides services such as the lending of books, reference, bibliographic service, reprographic service. It has microfilm readers, audio-video systems, a slide projector, and a public address system. Special features are a fully equipped binding section and a small children’s wing which was opened in the Gandhi centenary year 1969. The library is gearing up for computerization and is participating in the INFLIBNET program.

7. JNTUA College of Engineering, Anantapur

Government Engineering Colleges in Andhra Pradesh Admission Process

Admissions in these colleges are given according to the state and nation-level exam results. If candidates want then they can also give some of the university exams to get admission in these colleges. As soon as the results are declared students are asked for their counseling and it is very much important to apply for counseling.

The GayatriVidyaParishad (GVP) is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to promoting learning and development through the study of Sanskrit.
