Miami Open 2016

  • Ranked No. 1, Novak Djokovic (Serbia) earned his 28th ATP Masters title on April 3, 2016 by beating Nishikori £rom Japan at Crandon Park Florida, USA.
  • With this victory, he broke the record he shared with Rafael Nadal. He swept Indian Wells and the Miami Open for the third year in a row.
  • He also recorded his 714th career victory, surpassing his coach, Boris Becker, and moving into 11th place in the Open era.
  • Victoria Azarenka (Belarus) won her third Miami Open Title 2016 in the women’s singles category by defeating Svetlana Kuznetsova from Russia.
  • French pair of Pierre-Hugues , Herbert and Nicolas Mahut won the 2016 Miami Open title in the men’s doubles category.
  • Bethanie Mattek-Sands (USA) and Lucie Safarova (Czech Republic) won the 2016 Miami Open tide in the women’s doubles category.

Indian Wells Open 2016

  • Victoria Azarenka defeated world number one Serena Williams and claimed the BNP Paribas Open title in the category of women’s final an Indian Wells on March 20, 2016. With this victory, she took her 19th WTA Tour title.
  • In the men’s final, Serbia’s Novak Djokovic beat Milos Raonic of Canada to secure his 27th Masters title. The victory is the 62nd of his career and he has a chance to go past the Swiss with victory at the Miami Masters, which starts on March 23, 2016.
