Arunachal Pradesh Budget for 2017-18

  • Arunachal Pradesh Finance Minister Chowiia Mein presented a 7 285 crore deficit budget for the 2017-18 fiscal with major thrust on women empowerment, infrastructure development and law and order on March 10, 2017.
  • The Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) was estimated to be Rs 21414 crore in 2016-17. The share of central taxes have grown from the actual receipt of Rs 7075.58 crore in 2015-16 to Rs 8388.3 crore in the revised estimates of 2016-17.
  • Hie States own tax revenue in the revised estimates of 2016-17 is Rs 650.63 crore as against the actual receipt of Rs 535.07 crore in 2015-16, growing at 21.59%.
  • The non-tax revenue receipt in the revised estimates of 2016-17 is estimated at Rs 506.79 crore as against an actual collection of Rs 392.12 crore in 2015-16, showing a growth of 29%.
  • In the budget estimate of 2017-18, the State was projecting a revenue receipt of Rs 14599 crore and a capital receipt of Rs 1436.75 crore.

Telangana Budget for 2017-18

  • Rs 300 crore allocated for Warangal Municipal Corporation. Warangal is the second biggest city in Telangana after Hyderabad. Rs 1000 crore allocated for Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
  • Mission Bhagiratha, the piped drinking water programme gets Rs 3000 crore. The revised estimates of 2016-17 budget expenditure was 86.02% or Rs 112191.07 crore.
  • Information technology department gets Rs 252.89 crore in the budget. Expenditure in schemes pegged at Rs 88038.80 crore.
  • Revenue surplus is of Rs 4571.30 core and fiscal deficit of Rs 26096.31 crore. Total budget size is Rs 149646 crore. Estimated committed expenditure is of Rs 61607.20 crore. Irrigation continues to be priority area for the State.

Delhi Budget for 2017-18

  • The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government presented a Rs 48000-crore tax-free budget for Delhi for 2017-18, with focus on improving education, transport, health and water distribution on March 7, 2017.
  • The lion’-s share of the allocation has been earmarked for education, at Rs 11300 crore, about 24% of the total Budget, against Rs 10690 crore last year.
  • The AAP government, which initiated ‘Mohalla Clinics’ to pep up public health services, has also set aside Rs 5736 crore for the health sector.
  • For the water sector and Yamuna cleaning, Rs 2100 crore has been allocated, while Rs 3100 crore has been set aside for urban development.
  • The power sector has been allocated Rs 2194 crore, with thrust on solar energy and waste-to-energy plants.
  • For the Delhi Metro, a sum of Rs 1156 crore has been allocated for phase four, while 1100 crore has been earmarked for developing bus terminals and depots. The government also proposes to buy 582 new coaches for Delhi Metro.
  • According to Delhi’s Economic Survey, the national capital’s economic growth is likely to slow down to 8.26% during 2016-17, from 8.82% last year.
